Glove Care
Do you want to make sure your gloves last for generations? Or are you not sure how to transport your gloves for a special event? Please read through these general care instructions, which will help your gloves stand the test of time.
Putting On & Taking Off
To Put On:
Be gentle with sharp nails or rings to avoid snagging.
Slide the gloves on as you would with delicate hosiery: smooth, even movements rather than pulling.
To Remove:
Loosen each finger first to relieve tension.
Slide the glove down your arm from the top rather than tugging at the fingers, which may strain the seams.
Care & Storage
Hand wash only in lukewarm water with a mild detergent.
Dry flat on a towel, do not wring or hang.
Spot clean minor stains using mild detergent and a soft cloth.
Store out of direct sunlight, ideally in the box your gloves arrived in.
For heirloom preservation, consider framing your gloves or storing them in an archival-quality garment bag or keepsake box.
Before Your Event
Carefully unwrap and unfold your gloves upon arrival.
Lay them flat on a clean surface to ease out any minor wrinkles.
Silk or Organza Ribbons:
Use a steamer or iron on a low setting with a pressing cloth to gently remove any creases. Avoid direct contact to preserve the fabric’s texture.
Specialty Styles
Important Notes on Specialty Styles:
Some designs are too delicate to be washed, like the Junon, Carla and Emma gloves.
These pieces should not be submerged or steamed; we recommend spot cleaning.
Veil care
After receiving your veil, hang it up to let all the folds ease out. If there are still some creass after letting it hang for a few days, these can be carefully steamed out.
Hand wash in lukewarm water with mild detergent. Avoid twisting or pulling. Lay flat to dry for best results. Do not bleach.
